TRENDWATCH – BLOUSON NOIR by Melanie Ward and Graham Tabor

February 26, 2010

Melanie Ward is no less than one of the most influental stylists of the 90s with clients like Karl Lagerfeld, Helmut Lang, Yves Saint Laurent, Calvin Klein (she kind of spotted Kate Moss´s  potential as a fashion icon) . Today she is Senior Fashion Editor at Harper´s Bazaar and has now launched, in co-design with Graham Tabor, their new own label “Blouson Noir”.

The pieces were inspired by the simple stripes of dish cloths mixed with Native American fringing, making it a strong contender for an under-the-radar cool label for next summer. Sexy and simple.

There´s no way not to come across an article about her new label, if you are a regular reader of magazines like I-D, POP or British Vogue.

This is from the SS10 Lookbook,

with Freja Beha Erichsen and Lily Donaldson

By the way, I already saw some pieces of the summer collection @
